VANUATU’S Anglican Church has openly condemned domestic and all forms of violence.
The Bishop of Vanuatu and New Caledonia, the Right Reverend James Tama, said all forms of violence violates human rights.
“By Christian standards is a sin against God the Creator,” Tama said.
“The church stands by its Christian virtues, calling upon every single person to say no to physical, emotional and sexual violence in all homes and acknowledges that men, women and children are equally created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and that at all times display the Christian attitudes of love and compassion to one another.”
His comments came at the beginning of 16 days of activism against violence last week.
