THE heads of National Councils of Churches met in Suva this week to discuss a joint plan of action in the region.
Discussions focused on Climate Change; Self-determination in West Papua, Kanaky (New Caledonia) and Maohi (French Polynesia; Modern-day Slavery and labour mobility; Ecumenism (inter-denominational and inter-faith relations); theological education and joint programmes.
Delegates from Australia, Fiji, Niue, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu attended the PCC-organised meeting at the Moana Anglican Services and Teaching Centre.
A delegation from West Papua paid a courtesy call on delegates to update them on the continued struggle against human rights violations by Indonesian security forces.
