THE Pacific Conference of Churches will issue a strongly worded statement on the issue of nuclear weapons, testing and development this week.
A joint PCC-World Council of Churches team was to have visited Kiritimati Atoll in Kiribati this week but plans were scrapped due to travel restrictions put in place after the Corona Virus.
Now the PCC will address a Select Committee of Fiji’s Parliament on behalf of civil society.
The PCC and Pacific churches have been at the forefront of the battle against nuclear testing since the 1960s.
