Become A Member

  1. Any Church OR National Council of Churches OR Church organization OR ecumenical organization in the Pacific that accepts the basis and aims of PCC as prescribed in the PCC Constitution may be admitted as a member of the Pacific Conference of Churches provided that the General Assembly, which convenes every five (5) years, waive the territorial limits as it deems necessary.
  2. Any Church OR National Council of Churches OR Church organization OR ecumenical organization that qualifies to be admitted as a member of PCC shall make proper written application addressed to the Moderator and lodged with the General Secretary who will then circulate a copy to each of the members of the PCC.
  3. No application for membership shall be approved or granted or any decision made thereon before the expiration of twelve (12) calendar months calculated from the date the General Secretary circulates a copy of such application to all members of the PCC.
  4. An application for admission shall be deemed to have been approved or granted if it receives not less than two-thirds of the votes by members supporting the application at a meeting of the General Assembly OR if the application receives the majority supporting decision of the meeting of the full Executive Committee.
  5. Immediately upon the admission of a new member, that member shall become bound by the provisions of the PCC Constitution and any By-Laws then in force or thereafter made.
  6. Each member Church and National Council of Churches will pay membership fees as stipulated by the General Assembly with the exception of the Pacific Theological College and the World Council of Churches.
  7. Any decision made or omitted to be made by the Executive Committee shall be subject to appeal to the next General Assembly.
